No, I don't mean like the dolphin...the term "flipper" in this sense is a speculator who purchases a home with the intention of "flipping it" for a quick sale within a defined time frame to capture some profit.
In the past few years, it's been a great money maker for some, but it looks like the implosion is coming. Just check out Sacramento Area Flippers In Trouble. This is a great site that should be expanded upon to pull this data from everywhere (heck with my new found knowledget of xml processing in C#, I'd be willing to whip something out if I have some time).
Anyway, those of you fellow renters looking to buy, get your down payments ready, the next few years should present some very good opportunities to buy from someone in hot water.
