Move to Berkeley: Round 1 :: home :: Green Investing
I didn't think I really needed one of these things, but we were spending about $6.50 each morning at Starbucks for their breakfast sandwiches (awesome, btw). I decided to take the plunge and get this ultraspecialized marvel of kitchen engineering because I found it at target for $35 in Los Angeles rather than $40 up here (weird, yes I know). So how has it been? Well, if you fancy yourself and Egg McMuffin fiend, this thing will send you off to your own eggy-sausagey-cheesy heaven. When you get yours, try this:
Take the egg, mix in chopped garlic, add a little salt and pepper, and scramble them good. Pop it in the egg tray.
Add some spinach leaves to the warming tray above the egg tray.
Turn on the egg cooking switch and pop an english muffin in the other side and toast it.
When the toast is done, pop it out and lay down some havarti cheese to melt on top while the egg finishes.
Assemble and you'll enjoy something very very similar to Starbuck's eggs florentine breakfast sandwich.
Anyway, is this little specialized kitchen gadget worth it? YES. Do I need another one? YES. (why?) So I can make two at the same time: one for me and one for Hongyun. Ah, kitchen mcmuffin maker...I love you.
