Just hanging out at the Air China line at SFO. This past week has been an unbelievable crazy one. Hongyun's parents are leaving a month early due to her brother basically having a nervous breakdown. It's such a crappy time for this to happen especially with Hongyun deep in the trenches of school. My sentiment: get them outta here so the can handle their business and Hongyun can concentrate on school.
A few sucky things of note:
Yesterday, we were leaving to go visit Big Sur. Right before we left, Hongyun told me that her folks need to get more perfume to bring home. And not any plain old perfume...Chanel of course. I was in awe...we had already bought a bunch of stuff which they told us was ok, but now it wasn't. $110 per bottle...ouch. It's not money so much (although that hurts too), it's just her parent's inability to tell us what they need openly with playing cheap cat and mouse games that rubs me the wrong way.
Today as we're about to leave, Hongyun's mom was still packing and not only that she wanted to leave a lot of stuff behind. I was like, ummmm we have to move in a few weeks, the last thing we need is another SUV load of crap to store. Her mom's thinking was that they we coming back soon. I beg to differ...
1. You son is messed up and is going to need long term care.
2. Your claims to help us a lot with a lot of the cooking and other stuff never really materialized. While you tried, the cooking was shall we say repetitive. I don't consider myself too picky when it comes to food and have generally found that there is little that I don't like. Who knew that my mother in law would introduce me to a world of food that I don't like. Also, my nicely organized kitchen and bedroom are a mess now. That lady couldn't put stuff away in the same place twice if her life depended on it. I can barely find any tshirts or cooking utensils any more...sigh. I'll need a few days to put things back together, but it may not be worth it since we're moving anyway.
