On most mornings, I drop Hongyun off at De Anza and hop on the 85 for the crawl to Mountain View. While I've gotten used to this, it's still no fun. What I usually do before departing from De Anza is set my PPC-6700 to download a category of feeds from bloglines for my perusal. Of course I don't do this while driving...I wait until I get to the brand-spanking new Shoreline/85 off-ramp. See, what they did was separate traffic from people getting on 101 and people getting off at Shoreline. The net effect is a free flowing 101 and terrible 10 minute or so wait to get onto Shoreline. I'm sure it's only temporary, but I've found that in the span. If my phone has downloaded everything, I can skim through posts while waiting through the long queue for Shoreline freedom. Hey. It beats staring at the bus depot...
