Sun tries to stay alive by getting into the ecologically friendly server game. I'm not sure that energy is so expensive that IT managers are being asked to reduce their energy consumption (not yet at least). I think this is more a marketing gambit than a true call to be sustainability. Nowhere in their literature (that I can find) did they talk about end of lifecycle sustainability...sure their computer may use less electricity now, but what good will that do once the computer dies and is shipped to China to be dumped? Thin at best, McNealy.

(Beware, their default target seems to be "_blank" for all clicks so you'll soon have lots and lots of new windows open if you browse around their site for long...this, by the ways consumes MORE CPU cycles because you have to allocate ram, talk to the hard drive, instantiate browser windows, etc...where's your ecoconscious server now, Sun?)
