Getting under the skin :: home :: Spring (Fall) Cleaning
If you've Tivo'd (or Media Center'd) Lost but have yet to watch, do not read furhter....otherwise continue.
The first two episodes of Lost's second season were really just like one long episode. Episode one focused on the hatch and finally meeting Desmond. The second episode focused more on the Michael and Sawyer post-Walt abduction and raft burning.
In episode two, we did get more information as to what 4 8 15 16 23 42 means...they all add up to 108. I'm not sure if it's 108 minutes, but It seems that Desmond needs to type in 4 8 15 16 23 42 into an old Apple II before a count down clock that starts at 108 (minutes?) hits zero. I'm pretty sure it's minutes, but when I watched the clock change "seconds" it looked a little fast for seconds.
It seems to me that Desmond believe the world is contaminated a la The Island. It seems he's been down there for some time (Apple II, record player, etc.), but then again, when you looked around the room at the beginning of the first episode, there was a brand spanking new set of a Whirpool washer and dryer. Interesting. Was it just a snafu or did it mean he had new appliances?
We also learn in next week's episode that the "Others" are finally revealed to us and that the Others have found and captured another group of passengers from the plane. While all of this is happening, the 108 is still floating around in my head...108 108 108...what does it all mean?

Lost will have 4 seasons and after season 2 you won't know anything yet.

Hi there!
Just something I learned coincidentally a few days before watching episode 2.02 while watching a documentary about Jesus' "lost" years (12 to 30something) which, according to the makers, he may have spent in the Himalaya region: Both christian rosaries and buddhist prayer strings each consist of 108 pieces ... Interesting, huh?
