Yesterday was like Christmas even though I'm Buddhist. Growing up Buddhist, my folks would celebrate Christmas so I wouldn't feel different than the other kids. It worked at first, but eventually I figured out that there really isn't a holiday for Buddhists to exchange material possessions.
Anyway, yesterday almost everything we've ordered came in. Big ups to Amazon.com for hooking me up only 5 days after I ordered the product with super saver shipping. I'll be ordering an extra battery from them soon with my next $25 rewards certificate (I have the Amazon card that gives you 3% back on Amazon.com purchases).
Hongyun got her Franklin Speaking Dictionary too. We only paid $30 for it even though it retails for $99, again due to the Amazon.com gift certificates. Anyway, this thing is amazing. It can find words that you misspell, it reads the word to you, it has a word list that you can use to track the words you need to study, it has games that use your word list to help you study them, it has a thesaurus, it even has two ultra neat functions that I've never seen before. The first is that it has special dictionaries for various fields of science (like astronomy for example). Second, it has a "confusables" feature that shows you words that are easy to confuse with the word you're looking up (like "see" and "sea" because they're homonyms).
On top of all this, my subscrition to Make magazine started too! And this is all from my work mailbox...I haven't even had a chance to check my home mailbox because we were so busy playing with our new toys last night.
Anyway, I have to hurry up and finish our Hawaii photo montage so we can go out and try out the new camera this weekend.
