An action chick-flick? It just might be...
I just got back from seeing this neat little movie and thought it was pretty well done. At first, seeing Angelina Jolie as the female lead in an action movie made me think, "didn't they learn their lesson with Tomb Raider?" I'm happy my rhetorical tort was quickly shot down by Jolie's competent performance. Brad did a great job with near perfect comic timing. While the story was interesting and the movie was well put together, I have to say there were a few things that disappointed me (spoiler alert...skip down past the numbered section)
1. What's with the cheesy AI graphical orbs that "talk" to the characters? Lame.
2. Equally cheesy computer graphics...c'mon, it's 2005, the least you could do is make it look like a real computer program.
3. With all of those henchmen, you'd think one could throw a grenade or launch a missle...especially when they're cornered. Geez.
4. Three identical BMWs with silver racing stripes...feels like 2 Fast 2 Furious envy to me.
For these minor flaws I present you with some awesomeness from the movie:
1. Awesome fight scene
2. Good chemistry between Jolie and Pitt
3. Very, very nice house
4. Well done chase scene (minus the BMW racing stripes)
5. Decent story line with good dialog.
While I think this movie is pretty good, I don't recommend it unless you have been married for at least a couple of years. The movie will be pretty good if you're not married, but I think you'll have a better time if you are married and go see it with your spouse.
