Sprint's EVDO Coverage Map - EVDOinfo.com
Hmmm...if Sprint offers EVDO for $80 per month, that about's not too bad. I currently pay for:
cell phone service ($90/month for 3 lines)
DSL line ($30/month...will be going up to $50/month at the end of the year)
Tmobile Hotspots($30/month...year contract)
Local phone ($20/month)

Total monthly: $190/month (after DSL goes up)
By the end of the year I should be able to do:
Cell phone service ($90/month)
No more DSL (cancel after contract is over)
No more Tmobile (cancel after contract is over)
No more local phone (cancel cause don't need it)
Sprint EVDO ($80/month) + 1 stompbox

So I'd save $20/month AND gain the ability to do WiFi almost anywhere instead of just Borders and Starbucks. I'd just setup the stompbox in my car, add a second battery to the car (so as to not kill the main battery), and use it 24/7 as an access point for my home, work, whereever I want to study or work (not just Borders and Starbucks), etc. Ooooooh...I'm droooling at the prospects....how about setup a mobile hotspot? Charge people a $1 per day of access...that'd be cool. When I had speakeasy DSL, they offered this sort of service, but I had to handle installation and customer service so I thought that'd take too much effort. But if I made it cheap enough, peeps would just hop on my stompbox whereever I am and I'd charge them a few cents (assuming I'm not just driving by).
