Amen NY Times (one the best papers I've ever read, by the way). The article requires free registration, but it's worth the hassle to read. It's a story about engineers at EA slaving without days off, holidays, or vacation...in perpetual crunch mode, if you will.
Crunch mode is something I'm all too familiar with and it is something that can be livable for a while (I lived through perpetual crunch between June 2004 and October 2004...literally working whenever my eyes were open and forcing them to stay wide open when they really didn't want to be in some cases). It's a part of the software life and is not something that you should not maintain for extended periods of time. In EA's case, it seems they say "pish-tosh...let'em whine!"
