Milestones :: home :: MSNBC Green Machines
I am now one a member of Gmail thanks to a coworker hookup. No, I didn't sell the invites Google has so generously bestowed upon me for heavily usinng their neat little gigabyte mailbox service. I gave them out to family and friends. But Google decided to hook me up with some more invites so now I'm flush with them, well actually I have two left so not exactly flush. Anyway, I have found the gmail is a sweet little killer app of email. It's simple and I love the label and search features. Yahoo just upped my inbox to 100MB too! Woohoo, the age for phat and phree storage is back! Not sure what MSN has up their sleeve (rumblings of something groundbreaking coming down the pike soon going around the office, but I can't divulge details). Anyway, there are some places gmail could do better (I know it's beta, but I can still complain):
1. I'd like an "always display external images for this sender" option for newsletters that I read often...I always have to click "display external images" at the top of every mail from the same sender.
2. CSS is not downloaded for newsletters. Normally I don't care, but messes up layout and the like for some of the emails I get.
3. Hierarchial tabbing for threads...I like seeing who is responding to which email in the thread, not just responding to the thread in general.
Oh yeah, I found this: Pop goes the Gmail! - Engadget - www.engadget.com

Tommy,
If you still have a gmail invitation to give out, I would love to receive one! I've been trying for a while to receive one, but haven't had any luck yet. Thanks for your trouble! Blaine
