Ginger is having a tough quarter with a pretty wicked ESL class that is quite demanding. The class claims to be 5 units, but it takes up most of her waking hours with essays, test preparation, reading, and other activities. The good part is that her English skills have improved a great deal in a short time and I see her writing getting better with each essay I help her with.
This summer, the curriculum will be a little less demanding and maybe even enjoyable. She expressed interest in a book that looked quite interesting while we were at Borders yesterday. It's a mystery novel set in feudal Japan. I thought it looked quite interesting and wanted to read it myself! It turns out the book is the latest in a series of books that chronicles the adventures of a samurai. Most Amazonians give the series high marks so I think we'll be very pleased.
