In the future, you will control traffic lights. Actually everyone will control traffic lights. You see some traffic lights have a built in receiver that reads a signal from a special infrared emitter that is used by fire trucks, police, etc. It took a while, but someone has managed to create an inexpensive version of emitter for sale to the general public. I mean, who would have thought in our day where infrared LEDs go for the enormous sum of 5 cents each and electronics knowledge is as common as gas stations near freeways that someone would have been able to complete a gargantuan task such as creating a blinky LED thingy that works on 12 Volts? Amazing! And to top it off, the designers of the original system never thought the code could be cracked so they didn't make the system upgradable. Yep that's right! All of the millions of dollars spent around the country will need to be thrown out so that new technology can be installed and hacked in a few weeks. Maybe they'll be so smart as to use Wi-Fi in emergency vehicles...forgetting that Wi-Fi is not secure at all. But that is the nature of government right? Overconfidence and ineptness rolled into a nice tight package so as to ignite our tax dollars in one boondoggle after another.
