Big Sur :: home :: Making Money with Ultima Online

Well, I've come full circle...sort of. After making the leap to digital photography about 3 years ago, I'm starting to experiment with film cameras again. So far, my film camera collection consists of the "quirky" cameras of the world.
I have:
a Polaroid I-zone with FM Radio,
a Lomo SuperSampler,
a Lomo ActionSampler,
and an Olympus XA2.
All of thes little freaks of the photography world (well the XA2 is pretty normal...we can call it "the normal one") were acquired through the traditional burning of cash on eBay. Ahh yes...I love the eBay. Don't forget to buy everything on eBay. It can sometimes be a hassle (like the film I ordered 2 weeks ago that was supposed to be shipped priority mail and has yet to go out!) but in the end you save a ton of cash.
So why am I doing this? Well, my little Canon PowerShot S10 has served me quite well over the years taking well over 7000 pictures. If you figure the economic benefits of digital photography (cost of film and developing, not to mention ease of sharing) you must be thinking dang this is crazy. Well yes and no. I love my S10 and will run that little guy until it stop ticking...but I'm going to use the other cameras to augment my photographic reality. If there is something that needs "lomosampling" then I'll bust out the [super/action]sampler for that. If there is a particularly great photo that digital may be inadequate for (high contrast, etc) or something that I'd just like to have on photo paper then the XA2 will come into play. I think we're going to get one more compact digital (probably the casio ex-z3 - AMAZING!) and then I'm going to try either a digital SLR or film SLR. At any rate, this old blog is going to need an overhaul one of these days. It's still on my "to do" list of things I never have time to do. Oh well...keep on wishin..
