On Saturday, we went to Napa/St. Helena area for some wine tasting and a tour of the Mondavi winery [photos]. Both Ginger and I loved the scenery and the Mondavi tour. We learned quite a bit about what it takes to make good wines. Basically you need a lot of science and some good luck with the weather.
We stopped by the V.Sattui winery as well. They had a hectic tasting room (because all tasting is complementary there) along with a great little deli that sold some great cheeses. Ginger fell in love with duck pate after a sample and we ended up taking home two packs of duck pate and some low fat Gouda cheese.
Cakebread winery was a mini-stop. I tasted some of their wines...not too great not too bad. Just so so.
All in all a great day!
On Sunday and Monday, we ended up checking out the new Toyota Scions. They're basically Toyota echos that have better stereo equipment and some nice accessories. We think we're going to get the xA because it's tiny like the mini, gets great gas mileage, and costs only about $13K.
We also hung out a Borders and got a few books. Ginger's new favorite book is called
Do What You Are
It's a great book about personality types and career choices. We highly recommend it for those looking to upgrade their career life.
