Wrox is rocked :: home :: Hydrogen Economy and the War

I was wondering what to do for my birthday and Ginger took care of that with a great surprise birthday party. She's been planning it for a month or so to great success.
I started the day knowing something was up but not sure what. I went to breakfast with Tony and then he dropped me off at work. When he returned for lunch, I walked to the car and he had the trunk open. I was think..."hmmm, what's going on?" When I neared the car he closed the trunk. And I looked up and saw two of my other best buds from LA standing over to the side. Surprise! So we went to lunch at Pizza My Heart in Palo Alto and had a great time. Afterwards, they dropped me off for a meeting (Zzzzz...). They returned to pick me up right after and we were going to head home.
I decided to call home and see what Ginger was up to. She said not to come home before 7:25. It was 4pm. Dang...what are 4 old buddies going to do for 3 1/2 hours on a Friday afternoon? Happy Hour! So we headed to St. Stephens Green in Mountain View for a few pitchers of liquid confidence. After getting severely sloshed, we headed to Whole Foods for some double cream Gouda cheese and crackers and headed home.
When I walked up the stairs and around the corner, I saw someone huredly close the curtains on a darkened apartment. I opened the door and surprise!! There were quite a few people in my home! Scott and Leona, Ken and Amanda, Chihu and Masa, Hiromi, Masumi, Yuki, and Ginger were waiting for me. Ginger immediately put me to work barbequing all of the great food that she had prepared.
Anyway, we all had a good time eating and drinking that evening. Thanks to Ginger and everyone who helped put this shindig together for me. I deeply appreciate the effort you guys put into making my 28th b-day a memorable and happy one!
