We just got back from Hearst Castle! We left on a whim yesterday afternoon and ended up staying at a Motel 6 down the street from the Castle. The Castle is doing quite well and is in great shape. They even have new buses since I was last there! The rain let up yesterday morning and we had a brisk clear day on La Cuesta Encantada (the Enchanted Hill). We saw a Lido NEV at the top of the hill. The CA state park authority is using all natural gas burning buses to shuttle the people up the hill and little EVs to get around. While there, we stopped across the street at the Hearst State Beach. Amazingly we caught a glimpse of a few sea otters munchin' on some mussel! I couldn't believe that I actually saw otters in the wild! That totally made Ginger's day. Anyway, the tours were great and we're going to go back for the garden tour and the evening tour someday.

Tomorrow is the end of the year. We will be celebrating the lo-fi way (burgers on the bbq and a bottle of champange with Dick Clark on the TV) as next year, our New Years will be super hectic with the wedding and Thailand and all (see thailand wedding bash at the top of the right column).Hope you enjoy the photos and have a good New Year!
