Running a car on rechargable batteries is not clean. Lead acid batteries are toxic and are heavy and should be replaces by cleaner materials. You have to get power from a utility that burns coal or uses nuclear power as most utilities do, or uses natural gas to charge up the batteries. Transmision of electricity is very inefficient. The best thing is to be able to produce power on site. --- Dan Kaker
