Help Save Dodo!

Have you ever wondered where the name of this site comes from? Well, you're looking at her. Above is a picture of Ginger's parents dog named Dodo. Dodo has been forced to hide in the countryside of Inner Mongolia because city officials are enforcing pet registration checks. Any pet caught without registration will be impounded and killed. Why doesn't everyone just register their pets? Well that would be well and good except the cost of registering a pet is unknown! The city government does not have any information regarding the registering of pets. Some people rumor that the cost is as high as $1200 per year! That's the average yearly wage of a big city dweller in China. No one really knows and even if they did, no one can afford such fees. Why would the city officials do such a stupid thing? Well, it's not the first time. Instead of outright banning pet ownership, they've gone the high road and allowed pet ownership BUT made it so expensive that no one can possible do it. It's the same as if San Jose City made pet registration $40,000 per year. I guess they really enjoy tormenting the citizens. Some people think it's to keep the city clean, but then they should try to keep people from going to the bathroom whenever and WHEREEVER they feel like it. I can't tell you how many times I was on the bus and we drove by people just shamelessly relieving themselves against a nice street facing wall.

So we've decided to try and bring our little Dodo to America. How you ask? Well it's not easy (or cheap) but it is possible. We begun taking a collection for bringing Dodo to America. Hopefully we'll get enough to cover at least half of the cost of bringing Dodo here.
