Yahoo! News - China Focuses on Fighting Corruption
China acknowledges that corruption is prevalent in all levels of the government and Communist Party. Wow...that's news to me! I mean a system that has used blatant nepotism and "guanxi" (you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours) as basic business practice for thousands of years is corrupt?!? No!! That can't be!! Say it isn't so!!
Ok, ok enough sarcasm. Honestly, I'm glad that China is finally openly acknowledging this...it may even save the government. Millions around the country are rising up in protest over unpaid wages and pensions...thousands are getting arrested as "organizers of insurgence." At any rate, starvation & poverty feed anger. And anger eventually fuels change. Whether or not the Communists stay at the helm of this change is really in their own hands.
